CHURCH SHIP MODEL 1760 RESTORATION

A RESTORATION OF A CHURCH SHIP MODEL
CIRCA 1760

It never cease to be amazed that the treasures that unexpectedly walk through the museum door . This time it was a genuinely rare and historic church ship or votive model made in Britain around 1700.
These models were built for naval families to be placed or hung in their local chapel or church, the family then had a focal to pray to thus protecting the family member at sea
These votive models were to be found in churches through out Europe and are highly valued.
We have started a long  and careful restoration process for the original family
